Kathleen Brown, MD
Dr. Kathleen Brown is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC). She also serves as the Medical Director and Associate Division Chief for clinical affairs. She serves as the Medical Director for the EMSC National Resource center and as the as the scientific advisor for the EMS affiliate of WBCARN, Prince George’s county Fire and EMS.
Prior to taking on the role of EMS affiliate advisor, Dr. Brown served as HEDA PI for WBCARN and Site PI for several PECARN studies, including bronchiolitis, status epilepticus, C-spine, and DKA. She has worked with NHTSA on two projects designed to develop model prehospital protocols for selected conditions using the GRADE process. Dr. Brown worked with Maryland State EMS leadership to implement the pain management EBG into the statewide protocol and measure its impact. She serves on the Maryland Pediatric EMS Advisory Committee (PEMAC) and the Maryland pediatric Data Analysis and Research Team (DART), and is active in EMS leadership in DC.
